Fertility treatment in Margao
Heartbeats IVF has a consultation-and-scan fertility clinic in Margao — consultations with Dr. Mayur Pai, follicle monitoring scans, ovulation induction, IUI, semen analysis, medicines and pregnancy follow-up. The embryology laboratory and the operating theatre are at our own hospital, Pai Hospital, Vaddem, Vasco-da-Gama. A car is sent for you, free of cost, on the days your treatment needs them.
The part nobody warns you about is not the treatment. It is the diary.
A monitored cycle means a scan on day nine, another on day eleven, perhaps another on day thirteen, each at a fixed point in the morning, each one useless if it slips. Run that from South Goa at a centre outside the state and you are not having treatment, you are running an operation: leave applications, somebody covering your desk, and a story for whoever asks why you keep disappearing.
Twenty minutes in Margao is a different proposition entirely. That is most of what this clinic is for.
What happens in Margao, and what happens at the hospital
At the Margao clinic
Consultation and counselling · follicle monitoring scans · ovulation induction with tablets or injections, the usual treatment for PCOS · IUI · semen analysis (see male infertility) · hormone, thyroid, sugar and egg-reserve blood tests · prescriptions and billing · pregnancy and high-risk pregnancy follow-up.
At Pai Hospital, Vasco
Egg collection · embryo transfer · the embryology laboratory, including ICSI and embryo freezing · micro-TESE · laparoscopy · hysteroscopy · anything that needs anaesthesia, a theatre or a bed.
In a full IVF cycle that works out at roughly two days at the hospital and everything else within reach of home. On the hospital days we send a car for you and bring you back, at no cost. The fleet exists because Dr. Pai was losing patients over the drive rather than over the medicine, and a treatment nobody can reach is not a treatment.
Many couples never need the hospital at all
Worth saying plainly, because the letters IVF frighten people into assuming the entire apparatus is coming for them. A good number of couples conceive on the earlier steps: correcting what the tests actually find, then timed ovulation induction, then IUI if that is not enough. All three are done in Margao. If they work, your whole treatment will have happened twenty minutes from your house.
The medicines that ripen eggs can ripen more than one, and more than one egg can mean twins. Twins are not a bonus — early delivery, raised blood pressure and time in newborn intensive care all become more likely. That is one of the things the scans are watching for, and if too many follicles are growing we stop that month rather than go ahead.
We would rather you heard it here
You will find fertility clinics advertising IVF at addresses that contain no laboratory. The patient discovers the arrangement mid-cycle, when she is told to be somewhere else in the morning. We put ours on the page instead, because a woman who finds out on the day has been handled rather than treated.
And the plain version is the better one. Our laboratory is not rented, not shared and not in another company's building: it is inside our own hospital, with our own embryologist, next to a theatre we never have to queue for. The clinic near you is the front door of that, not a booking desk for somebody else's.
Coming to us from around Margao
Margao is the sensible clinic for Margao itself and for Fatorda, Navelim, Colva, Benaulim, Chinchinim, Cuncolim, Curchorem, Quepem, Sanguem and Canacona. From Ponda, either Margao or Panjim may be the shorter run, depending on your road. If you are in Vasco, Cortalim or Chicalim, go straight to the hospital.
The exact address, and the days Dr. Pai consults in Margao, are given when you call or message on WhatsApp on 095185 02773. Satellite consulting days move with the operating list, so we confirm them one at a time instead of publishing a timetable that would be wrong within a month.

Questions people in South Goa ask
Do I have to leave South Goa for fertility treatment?
Almost never, and never for the state. Consultations, scans, ovulation induction and IUI are done at the Margao clinic. If you go on to IVF, the laboratory days are at our hospital in Vasco, and we drive you there and back free of charge.
How many times will I actually have to go to Vasco in one IVF cycle?
Usually twice: the day the eggs are collected and the day the embryo is put back. If you also need a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy or micro-TESE, that is one more hospital day. Everything else is in Margao.
Who arranges the car, and is it really free?
We do, and it is. Tell us on WhatsApp when your date is fixed and the pick-up is arranged with it, from your side and back again. There is no charge for the journey.
Can I have IUI in Margao without going to the hospital at all?
Yes. IUI needs no theatre and no anaesthesia, so the insemination and the monitoring scans around it are all done at the clinic.
Margao is a small place. Will anyone find out we are being treated?
Not from us. Your records stay in your file, patients are not discussed where anyone can overhear, and no patient's name, face or story appears on this website or on our social media. If a quieter appointment time would make this easier, say so when you book and we will try to arrange it.
Which days is the Margao clinic open for fertility consultations?
The consulting days follow the operating list and can change, so we confirm them on the phone rather than print them. Message 095185 02773 for the day, the time and the exact address before you set out.
Your visit is confidential — nothing about you appears on this website or on social media.
