Fertility consultations in Mapusa
Heartbeats IVF has a fertility clinic in Mapusa where you can consult Dr. Mayur Pai: your first consultation, your follow-up visits and the plan for your treatment. Treatment is done here in Goa, in our own embryology laboratory and IVF centre, and most of your visits can be planned close to where you live.
What your treatment in Goa can include
- Your first consultation — with Dr. Mayur Pai, MBBS, MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), with over fifteen years in practice. It is ideal for both partners to be evaluated at once: the cause may lie with the man, the woman or both.
- Follicle monitoring — the short ultrasound scans, every second or third day through the middle of your cycle, that show whether an egg is really growing and when it will be released.
- Ovulation induction — the tablets or injections that help the ovary ripen an egg, with the scans that must go with them; the usual treatment for PCOS.
- IUI — intrauterine insemination: prepared sperm placed into the womb at the right moment. It needs no theatre and no anaesthesia.
- Semen analysis and the blood work — hormones, thyroid, sugar, egg reserve; see male infertility.
- Pregnancy follow-up, including a high-risk pregnancy, once you are pregnant.
The laboratory and theatre days
An IVF cycle needs an embryology laboratory on exactly two days: the day the eggs are collected and the day the embryo is put back.
An operation — laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, micro-TESE — needs a theatre and an anaesthetist. Both are our own, here in Goa, and reception plans those days with you when you call.
Our own laboratory, in Goa
It is a fair question to ask any IVF centre, including us: whose laboratory will my eggs go to? Your eggs are handled in our own laboratory in Goa, by our own in house embryologist, in our own IVF theatre. We will not outsource you to any IVF centre outside Goa. All treatment will occur in Goa itself.

Questions people in Mapusa ask
Can I have IVF without leaving Goa?
Yes. Every step of IVF is done here in Goa, in our own embryology laboratory and operating theatre, and most of your visits can be planned close to where you live. When you call or WhatsApp, reception plans the days with you.
Is the embryology laboratory your own?
Yes. It is our own laboratory, here in Goa, and nothing is sent outside it. That is deliberate: a laboratory is an incubator, a filtered air supply and a trained embryologist in one room next to the theatre, and you build that properly and run it properly.
Do I have to travel far for every appointment?
No. Most of your visits can be planned close to where you live, and reception plans the days with you. Our address is Heartbeats IVF clinic. inside Kalangutkar's Nursing Home, Near Alankar Theatre, Mapusa, Goa.
Which days does Dr. Pai see patients at the Mapusa clinic?
The Mapusa clinic runs by appointment, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday. Call reception on 095459 20817 (9 am to 7 pm) or send a WhatsApp message to 095185 02773 (no phone calls, only messages) to book.
Do I need a referral to come?
No. Call or message and come. Bring any reports you already have, however old and however untidy: a test that is still valid does not have to be repeated, which saves you money.
My husband cannot get leave. Can I come alone?
You can, and you will be seen properly. But a plan built on one partner's tests is half a plan, because a male factor is involved in about half of couples. If he truly cannot come, bring his semen analysis; if he has never had one, that is the first thing to arrange.
